Season: autumn

Once a thriving fishing village serving Red Bay, this is now a popular visitor beach, with the striking backdrop of Glenariff, sand dunes at the southern end of the beach and the village of Waterfoot at the northern end.  The atmosphere is peaceful here and there’s a pleasant arc to the sandy beach.  Access is good and there are shops, eateries and bars in the village.

Season: autumn

Sitting just north of neighbouring Glenarm beach, Carnlough benefits from its proximity to the beautiful Glens of Antrim, a walker’s paradise.  The beach here is crescent-shaped and sandy, with a small harbour at the northern end.  Boat trips are popular and there is a peaceful ambiance in the village, which is welcoming and attractive.  This is a village and beach well suited to quiet reflection.

Season: autumn

The village of Glenarm and its beach sit at the foot of the first of the Glens of Antrim.  Nestled next to the beach is a small harbour and a marina, giving good access to excellent sailing waters.  Boat trips for visitors run from the marina and fishing is popular here.  The beach is pebbled and there is a promenade running behind it.  The nearby woods and glens attract walkers, who are looked after in the village by pubs, shops and eateries.  The car park is handily located at the eastern end of the beach and you’ll find a grassy area for picnics there too.
