Season: autumn
Once the location for the locally well known Melody Inn, this beach has long been a Wirral favourite. There’s an adjacent pub, which is named after the old Derby Pool, again once a local point of interest. Nowadays, kitesurfing, dog walking, swimming in the good quality bathing water and coastal birdwatching illustrate the diversity of Wallasey beach’s appeal. Wirral Council Coastal Rangers are on hand with friendly advice and the beach is regularly cleaned.
