St Annes beach at Lytham St Annes is just beyond Lytham itself, on the way to Blackpool. The town is genteel and there’s a Victorian pier, with promenades running in both directions from it. Low tide reveals plenty of sand, due to a strong tidal run here, being not far from the entrance to the River Ribble estuary. For entertainment you can hire pedallos and paddle-boats. The water quality is fine and the beach is cleaned regularly.
A variety of stimuli for Stuart.
