Season: autumn
Blackpool’s beaches are divided by name into South, Central and North, but there’s a unity of purpose here – fun! At low tide the beach is expansive, but most visitors entertain themselves on or beyond the famous promenade. There are three piers to choose from, as well as the celebrated Tower with its stunning illuminations. Mile after mile of pleasure palaces adorn the seafront. From log flumes to American waltzers, they’ve got the lot. This is a town with attitude, geared up for all the fun of the fair.
