This peaceful, quiet beach is a haven for wildlife, as the beach to the east of the River Annan is backed by salt marsh, or merse, as it’s locally known. As a result, this an ideal environment for bird life, examples being redshanks, oystercatchers and lapwings. Featured flowers and grasses include thrift and scurvy grass. The beach itself comprises mostly shingle, so this is a fine spot to walk the dog. Nearby Annan has plenty of facilities and restaurants. Annan beach is a good place to re-balance and to recharge your batteries.
