Season: summer
The beach at Sea Palling is sandy, partly due to the nine offshore reefs put in place as part of a flood prevention scheme. It also has Blue Flag status for the quality of its bathing water. Swimming is safe here and there is cover from the RNLI inshore service. The Norfolk Wildlife Trust (NWT) reserve at Hickling is only five miles away and both the NWT and RSPB have reserves that are easily reached from Sea Palling. You can walk along the beach towards Waxham and Horsey (National Trust) to catch a glimpse of seals. In short, there’s something for everyone at Sea Palling.
What the beach means to Jacqueline.
A summer day at the beach.
The beach for me is my place for peace and quiet when all you can hear is the sound of the waves crashing onto the sand. It also holds many fond childhood memories of time spent with my dad building sandcastles, playing cricket, flying a kite, fishing from the beach or sitting on the sand watching a storm that was out over the sea. Summer or winter the beach always has something different to offer, whether the tide is coming in or going out, and leaving the treasures of the sea behind.
