Isle of Carna

Season: winter

The Isle of Carna sits in Loch Sunart on the southern side of the Ardnamurchan Peninsula.  It’s beautiful, secluded, remote and accessible only by boat.  There are three properties on the island, used as second homes or holiday lets.  There’s a palpable environmental sensitivity to the island, as well as a perennial feeling of well-being, due to its proximity to some of Scotland’s most outstanding coastal scenery.  In short, this is an exquisite place.

…For me it is escape, from modern living, just me , with all senses tuned to what’s around. Not looking in, just looking out. It is a truly warm feeling without complication.
