About manonabeach

On a beach…welcome to manonabeach.com, where I’ll regularly add video of my beach visits, so you can enjoy a flavour of the beach, even when you’re not there.

Lossiemouth East Beach

Season: spring

East Beach at Lossiemouth has acres of golden sand.  Access is via a scenic foot bridge over the River Lossie.  The beach has a nearby esplanade and is backed by extensive sand dunes.  Like many beach towns and villages in North East Scotland, Lossiemouth is proud of its independently produced ice cream, which adds to the enjoyment of any visit here.

Rattray Head beach

Season: spring

Rattray Head and its lighthouse stand in front of the dunes and the Loch of Strathbeg, with its nature reserve.  This wild section of Aberdeenshire’s coast attracts walkers and nature lovers, who are drawn to the varied wildlife in the area.  The loch is a Special Protection Area, administered by the RSPB, forming naturally during a 1720 storm, which detached it from the beach and the sea.
