Season: summer
Looking out to Cardigan Bay in the Snowdonia National Park, Barmouth has a sandy beach that is popular with families. The promenade behind the beach carries a land train and there are amusements and other entertainment nearby. Water sports enthusiasts are attracted here, so there is plenty for everyone at Barmouth. Sea swimming has become popular in recent years and the town supports many organised swimming events. Every kind of entertainment is available on this beach, from donkey rides to swing boats. Why not try a trip around the estuary in a pleasure boat? If you want to explore further afield, Snowdonia’s wonderful hills are close by.
An elemental end to the day with Steffan.
A view from beside the sea at Barmouth’s beach.
I’ve been visiting Barmouth since I was a child, every summer. I look forward to returning to familiar places, with so many memories of happy times. Three cheers for Barmouth.
