Seaham Hall is where Lord Byron married the heiress Annie Milebanke in 1815 and this has informed the beach name ever since, although this strand is also known as Seaham North Beach. There is a promenade behind the beach, as well as a marina and shops, a long way from the industrial days of glass-making in the 1920’s. The beach is mostly sandy and extends well to the north of the town, where you can find all the necessary facilities.
