Crimdon Park Beach is sandy and backed by dunes and cliffs, behind which is the caravan park referred to in its name. Located to the north of Hartlepool, the beach once attracted day trippers from the nearby industrial mining towns, now long gone. One benefit of this industrial decline is the improved cleanliness of the Durham beaches in general, along with an increasing acknowledgement of the well-being benefit of being in these wonderful wild spaces. Dogs are welcome here and there is space for a long, invigorating walk along the beach at any time of the year.
