Sitting in the Pembrokeshire National Coastal Park, Newgale Sands enjoys over two miles of unbroken sand, making it a haven for water sports enthusiasts. It’s one of West Wales’ best known beaches, attracting kitesurfers, windsurfers and swimmers to this part of St Brides Bay. All the facilities you might need can been found in nearby Solva and the Pembrokeshire Coast Path runs along the upper reaches of the beach.

The beach is an open space which brings you at one with nature and its elements. It’s an escape from life’s stresses and strains, providing you with a place to breath, contemplate and re-evaluate the world in which we live. The beach to me is home.
We have always loved Newgale Beach, mainly because, when you come down the hill from Haverfordwest and Pelcomb Cross… and see the view across St Bride’s Bay, towards Ramsey Island, you feel that you have ‘arrived’… in our case after a 240 miles journey. You have a sense of peace and belonging… a feeling of security and wellbeing. The view is never the same…sometimes a calm and flat sea with no surfers… and other days, a raging, angry surf with everyone stretching themselves to the limit as they navigate the huge waves. It also means that we are getting very close to St Davids and this brings the Cathedral just a ‘stone’s throw’ away, the coastal path within five minutes walk and the other wonderful beaches at Caerfai and Whitesands. Is Pembrokeshire one the seven wonders of the world (?)…. it should be!
